On Tuesday November 8 at 10 a.m we invite all interested to the next edition of the “Exhibit of the Month”. Novemeber “Exhibit of the Month” at the Sybir Memorial Museum is associated with the history of the Jasudowicz family. This time we present the fates of people, that were touched by the soviet terror after World War II. Janina Rutkowska née Jasudowicz was born in 1940 and her first years she spend in the family property, Urnėžiai. In 1945 her father Jan Jasudowicz was arrested by the NKVD and sentenced to 10 years in a  labor camp. Three years later the Soviets deported Janina with her three sibilings and mother Ludwika. The further fate of Janina’s family can be met on November 8 during the meeting with Mrs. Janina Rutkowska, where we will present the exhibits donated by her. Free admission.

In turn, on Monday, November 17, there will be an author’s meeting entitled “Enchanted Baikal”. The guest will be Piotr Malczewski — a well-known photographer and traveler. Together with him, we will travel to the shores of Lake Baikal to discover the secrets of this place. Conversation about the book by Piotr Malczewski entitled “Baikal. Tales of the Holy Sea ”will be accompanied by a presentation of photos taken in the region of the deepest lake in the world — Baikal. Ticketed Admission is ticketed (regular ticket: 10 PLN, reduced ticket: 5 PLN).

The end of the month means another event organized as part of the series entitled “Siberian Spirit”. On Tuesday, November 22, there will be an interview with Jurgi Vile and Lina Itagaki, authors of a children’s book about the Soviet deportations from Lithuania. Free admission.
