Architectural Availability

The Sybir Memorial Museum, Węglowa 1 Street, 15-121 Bialystok

The functional structure of the entire complex of the Sybir Memorial Museum in Bialystok was built on the main theme of the symbolic road. It begins with a long external ramp that leads us into the high, dark space of the hall. In the lateral wing of the building there are the administration of the museum, cash desks, a shop, cloakrooms, toilets, a conference room with back-up facilities, a security room, guest rooms and rooms of the Association of Sybiraks and the Association of Katyn Families, and a cafe.

From the hall there is an entrance to temporary exhibitions, a descent to the Katyn Underground and the beginning of the main exhibition. After passing the entire sequence on the ground floor, we go out to the external staircase with an elevator, in the eastern gable wall of the warehouse. The exit from the exhibition will take place on the upper level, through the main staircase to the entrance hall. The research and development department with the library is located on the second floor of the warehouse on both sides of the exit from the upper exhibition.

Access to the interior of the building is provided directly by the pavement with a slope of up to 6% leading from the level of the square to the entrance of the building.

Accessibility of all floors is possible thanks to passenger lifts with a cabin adapted to the transport of wheelchairs. Toilets for people with disabilities are located on all floors accessible to visitors. In front of the building there are designated parking spaces for guests with disabilities.

It is possible to enter the building and all its exhibition rooms with an assistance dog and a guide dog.
