Renia Jackowska’s teddy bear

Teddy bear got to Sybir hugged by Renia Jackowska, departed with her mother from Lwow to Irkutsk Oblast.

The teddy bear helped her leading with the deportation, stay and the evacuation form the Soviet Union with Anders’ Army.

After the evacuation the fate of the Jackowski family united with Mr and Mrs Świderscy. Both families lived in the same house in Ain-Karem (part of Jerusalem). Teddy bear quickly became Basia Świderska’s favouite toy. In 1946 the Jackowski family was allowed to go to England and Renia gave the mascot to her friend.
