Discovering portraits — take part in art workshops

We invite you to a series of creative painting workshops, during which we will not only discover the secrets of creating portraits, but also go on a journey through art and history.

During the three-session workshops, we will see archival photographs from the collection of the Sybir Memorial Museum and visit the temporary exhibition ‘Only Pain is Mine’. We will also look at modern artistic practices inspired by old photography.

Then we will move on to the practical part. We will explore various painting techniques — focusing especially on acrylic paints. We will learn how to create gradients, streaks, hair reflections and how to paint the sky, mold or moss. During the meetings, we will create original painting works, inspired by both the spirit of old portraits and modern art.

We will end the workshops with a unique exhibition where we are able to present our joint works.

Join our artistic group and discover your creative potential!

The workshops accompany the temporary exhibition ‘Only Pain is Mine’. It will be led by Paweł Matyszewski.

The dates of meetings:

  • March 23, 2024
  • April 6, 2024
  • April 13, 2024

The meetings will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Tickets for the series — for 60 PLN — can be purchased at the ticket office or online at sklep.sybir.bialystok.pl.
