Meeting with Sybiraks on the occasion of International Women’s Day is already a tradition at the Sybir Memorial Museum.

This time our multimedia room was filled with flowers — the meeting was an opportunity to learn the art of arranging them. Sybiraks and representatives of the Sybiraks Grandons’ Community (Wspólnoty Wnuków Sybiraków), during the specially arranged workshops with Yuliia Perepelytsia, who is a florist, prepared beautiful, colorful flower boxes.

As every year, Women’s Day at the Sybir Memorial Museum was also a great opportunity to share reflections and conversations.

At the Sybir Memorial Museum, Women’s Day lasted for 3 days!

In addition to the specially prepared floral workshops for Sybiraks, one of the events organized on the occasion of Women’s Day was a curatorial tour of the temporary exhibition ‘Only Pain Is Mine’. On Saturday morning, a large group of interested people had the opportunity to listen to a guide, one of the curators — Katarzyna Śliwowska.

The next day, one of our guides, Paweł Kalisz showed interested visitors the permanent exhibition. He invited visitors to follow a specially prepared for this occasion path titled ‘Women in Siberia’ (“Kobiety na Sybirze”).
