Guests from the Vilnius Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights, the most important Lithuanian institution devoted to the soviet repressions visited the Sybir Memorial Museum. 32-people delegation of museologists and historians came to Bialystok with a study visit to get familiar with the museum’s experiences.
Professor Wojciech Śleszyński, director of the museum told about the history of the institution, the process of its establishing and the creation of the permanent exhibition. Later, the Lithuanian museologists got familiar with the work of some departments of the Sybir Memorial Museum.
The arrival of the guests from Vilnius is another study visit of a foreign museum institution. We share our knowledge related to creating a modern museum with the use of innovative mass media in an accessible way and at the same time deepen talking about the most important problems of our history.
