Everyday objects, family photographs or toys — among others, you will be able to see such things on August 5, 2023 in the Park of Solidarity (from the side of Armii Krajowej Street) in Ełk, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

“RzeczyViste” is an installation that aims to draw attention to the fate of Polish citizens deported deep into the Soviet Union in 1940-1941. Through its unusual form, it is supposed to intrigue and surprise the audience. It is a metaphor for an open suitcase. The items presented in it have been selected so as to correspond to those that accompanied people deported to Siberia. In front of each item there is a black or white plate with a brief description of its owner’s fate. It contains basic information about the deportee: name, age and place of deportation.

The author of the installation is Karolina Mosiej-Zambrano. Paweł Kalisz was responsible for the substantive development.

We have already presented RzeczyViste in many Polish cities, inter alia, in Poznań, Lublin, Białowieża, Supraśl and Białystok.
