During the meeting, Krzysztof Truskolaski was re-elected Chair of the Council, while Przemysław Tuchliński and Jacek Brzozowski, PhD, were re-elected Vice-Chairs.
The meeting was opened by the Museum’s Director, Prof. Wojciech Śleszyński, who thanked the Council members for their work during the previous four-year term and welcomed new representatives from academic, cultural, and social circles.

Their commitment, expertise, and long-standing support have been invaluable to the development of the Museum.
The following individuals joined the Museum Council:
- Jolanta Hryniewicka – President of the Białystok Branch of the Association of Sybiraks
- Marek Kietliński, PhD – Director of the State Archives in Białystok
- Alicja Knast – cultural manager, former Director of the Silesian Museum in Katowice, and former Director-General of the National Gallery in Prague
- Krzysztof Korotkich, PhD, Professor at the University of Białystok – Vice-Rector for Education at the University of Białystok
- Prof. Jarosław Perszko – Director of the Institute of Art at the Faculty of Architecture of Białystok University of Technology
- Associate Professor Grzegorz Zackiewicz (University of Białystok) – Faculty of History

During the meeting, the Museum Council paid tribute to the recently deceased Prof. Antoni Kuczyński — an outstanding specialist in the history of Siberia, long-serving editor-in-chief of Zesłaniec, and, above all, a great friend of the Sybir Memorial Museum.
The Museum Council plays a key role in overseeing the fulfilment of the institution’s mission and advising on its activities. We would like to thank all members — both those concluding their term and those beginning a new one — for their commitment to preserving and promoting the memory of Siberia.
