The latest announcement of the Minister of Education and Science on the list of scientific journals and peer-reviewed materials from international conferences was published on December 1, 2021 and we can find there the information that BHB received additional points — in total it has 40!

The Sybir Memorial Museum is a place where one of the priority tasks is to conduct scientific and research activities. The score obtained by “Biuletyn Historii Pogranicza” (‘Borderlands History Bulletin’) is an appreciation of the scientific value of the journal.

This is just the beginning, in the future we will try to increase the score — said Wojciech Śleszyński, PhD, director of the Sybir Memorial Museum and editor-in-chief of “Biuletyn Historii Pogranicza” (‘Borderlands History Bulletin’).

The last, 21st issue of “Biuletyn Historii Pogranicza” (‘Borderlands History Bulletin’), includes studies on the processes taking place in Belarus in the last thirty years. It was a special issue, prepared in two language versions: Polish and English, with the hope of reaching not only Polish recipients, but also foreign readers.

 — The huge wave of social rebellion that broke out in Belarus after the presidential election in 2020 surprised observers of eastern policy. It revealed not only the determination of the society, previously considered passive, but also the unexpected brutality of the authorities. We could not leave these phenomena without a comment and an attempt to explain — emphasizes Wojciech Śleszyński, PhD.

The Sybir Memorial Museum is a scientific and popularizing unit specializing in research on the history of deportations and deportations of Polish citizens deep into Russia and the Soviet Union, as well as other repressions used by the tsarist and Soviet authorities. The second research area is the history of the eastern areas of the Second Polish Republic, with particular emphasis on social history — this is the topic of “Biuletyn Historii Pogranicza” (‘Borderlands History Bulletin’).

The president of the Polish Historical Society, Bialystok’s Branch, Wojciech Walczak, PhD, also expressed his satisfaction with the received points. He emphasized that the received points are the best confirmation of the highest scientific level represented by “Biuletyn Historii Pogranicza” (‘Borderlands History Bulletin’).
