During the winter break, family workshops will be held at the Sybir Memorial Museum: “Polish Children in the Land of the Rising Sun” and “The Bear Who Became a Soldier“. Participation in the workshops will be a perfect opportunity to spend time together and learn history in an engaging way.

“Polish Children in the Land of the Rising Sun
January 28 (Tuesday), 12:45
February 4 (Tuesday), 12:45

During the workshops, we will learn about the story of Polish children rescued from Siberia a hundred years ago by the Japanese government. We will discover how they managed to reach the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’. Various activities will help us explore this story, including Kamishibai, a traditional Japanese storytelling theater. At the end, we will create a keepsake using the Japanese hapa zome technique.

“The Bear Who Became a Soldier
January 29 (Wednesday), 12:45
February 5 (Wednesday), 12:45

During the workshops, we will tell the story of how a small Syrian bear became a Polish soldier. We’ll learn where Polish soldiers found famous Wojtek the Bear and the long journey they undertook together. During our exploration across three continents, we’ll solve numerous puzzles that require us to engage our senses and strain our imagination. At the end of the session, each participant will create a commemorative badge.

Families with children aged 6–12 are welcome to join.
The cost of the workshop is 15 PLN per person.
