The Sybir Memorial Museum invites you to take part in psychological workshops accompanying the exhibition “Boundlessness in Sybir.” The exhibition presents works by artists affiliated with the Institute of Art at the Faculty of Architecture of Białystok University of Technology. Inspired by the experiences of the Sybiraks, the artists explore the theme of boundlessness and limits — both in physical and emotional terms. In the first part of each workshop, participants will be introduced to the exhibition by Ewelina Kamieńska, curator of the temporary exhibition “Boundlessness in Sybir.” This introduction will serve as a starting point for reflection on the contemporary meaning of personal boundaries.

The fate of the Sybiraks is not only a record of historical events — it is also a living experience that leaves a lasting mark on subsequent generations. Family narratives, both conscious and unconscious, can influence the way we shape our identity, build relationships, and cope with difficult emotions. How do events from the past shape our present lives? How can we consciously engage with this legacy in order to build a better future?

The aim of the workshops is to help participants better understand the mechanisms through which family history affects their lives. The sessions will provide space for reflection, exchange of ideas, and working with one’s own emotions in a safe and supportive atmosphere. These workshops are intended for anyone who wishes to better understand how the history of their ancestors influences their present and how to consciously shape the future by drawing strength from the experiences of previous generations.

We invite you to two meetings that will take place in March and April.

How can our grandparents’ childhood experiences affect the lives of our children? How can we consciously work with this legacy so that we pass on strength rather than fear to future generations?

Releasing the Future – How to Build Happiness Despite Difficult Experiences

Workshops focused on how personal and family history shapes our everyday choices, relationships, and sense of happiness. How do difficult experiences from the past affect our present? What can we do to free ourselves from the burden of the past and find a path toward greater peace and well-being?
