“I would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful gift I received from you, as well as for the accompanying letter expressing your gratitude to Sybiraks. I am grateful for your acknowledgment of all the Poles deported to Siberia,” wrote Mr. Henryk in a letter to the Director of the Sybir Memorial Museum, Professor Wojciech Śleszyński.

“Thank you so much for such a Santa Claus – it will sweeten my life a little!,” wrote Mr. Mieczysław.

The Christmas packages prepared by the Museum’s team, along with our donors and volunteers, have already been delivered to Sybiraks in Białystok and the surrounding area.

We are deeply thankful for all the calls, letters, and emails filled with gratitude that we receive every day. We are touched and delighted that the Christmas packages were appreciated by our dear Sybiraks.

This entire initiative would not have been possible without the involvement of many individuals. The preparations for the campaign “Package for a Sybirak” began a few months before Christmas to ensure everything would arrive on time. Thanks to the friendliness and kindness of so many people, we managed to prepare 300 gifts. Some were delivered personally by Museum employees, while others were sent by post. The warm words of recognition from Sybiraks are the most beautiful reward for us for the joint efforts.

The Sybir Memorial Museum thanks everyone who joined in this outstanding initiative.
