Today, the Sybir Memorial Museum hosted a unique gathering attended by both Sybiraks and donors involved in this year’s “Package for a Sybirak” initiative. The event was filled with warm words, expressions of gratitude, and mutual appreciation.

“I am glad that, as every year just before Christmas, we have the opportunity to meet with you and hand over the packages directly to you — and, in fact, to several hundred Sybiraks. These packages are proof that we remember you. The mission of the Sybir Memorial Museum is not only to tell history, but also to be a place where you can feel our love and respect. These symbolic packages show that you are always in our hearts and that you are extremely important to us,” said Rafał Rudnicki, Deputy Mayor of Białystok.
On behalf of the donors, Przemysław Tuchliński — President of Białystok Waterworks and Vice-Chairman of the Museum Council — also addressed the guests:
“As Białystok Waterworks — and I believe this applies to all the companies involved in this project — we are happy to be here with you and to share what we have achieved through our work. The Sybir Memorial Museum is a unique place, a meeting space for Sybiraks, and I am pleased that it is from here that the packages will be sent to them.”

During the meeting, donors received commemorative certificates of appreciation from the Museum’s representatives. They personally handed packages to the Sybiraks present and packed additional ones, which were sent to our Heroes later that same day. Jolanta Hryniewicka, President of the Białystok branch of the Association of Sybiraks, expressed her heartfelt gratitude:
“I am deeply moved. On behalf of all Sybiraks and myself, I would like to sincerely thank the donors for this noble gift from the heart. They were under no obligation to do this, yet out of kindness and a genuine need of the heart, they made this gesture — for which the Sybiraks are truly grateful.”

This year, thanks to the commitment of the campaign’s partners, over 300 packages, with a total value of approximately PLN 50,000, were prepared for Sybiraks from Białystok and the surrounding region. Each package is not only a set of essential items, but above all a symbol of remembrance, gratitude, and care.

We are pleased that this initiative — born from a genuine need of the heart — continues to grow each year, attracting more individuals, companies, and institutions. We would like to thank everyone involved in this year’s “Package for a Sybirak” campaign. Thanks to you, so many people will receive this meaningful gesture of remembrance at Christmas.
