We are four days away from the eighth edition of Memorial Peloton – a unique event that combines a bicycle ride through the streets of Białystok with a history lesson.

This year, the 8 kilometers long route will include points that highlight the wartime history of the people of Białystok. The starting point will be at the square in front of the A. Węgierko Dramatic Theatre in Białystok, with the finish line located in front of the Sybir Memorial Museum. So far, over 150 participants have already registered.

“I believe this is a wonderful history lesson and an opportunity to remind people of the tragic fate of Białystok’s residents, while also allowing them to spend time actively with their loved ones,” said Tadeusz Truskolaski, Mayor of the City of Białystok, during a press conference.

Memorial Peloton is an international initiative that will visit another country this year.

“On August 21, we will meet in Riga, on August 23 in Vilnius, and for the first time on September 8 in Mereni, Moldova. During the Białystok edition of Memorial Peloton, representatives from Lithuania and Latvia will be present and join us on the route,” said Professor Wojciech Śleszyński, Director of the Sybir Memorial Museum.
