On International Women’s Day, the Sybir Memorial Museum hosted a workshop where Sybiraks, along with their daughters and granddaughters, handcrafted natural cosmetics. The event was organized in collaboration with Mydlarnia Cztery Szpaki.
Our guests had the opportunity to create aromatic oils and body scrubs under the guidance of experienced instructors.
The meeting at the Sybir Memorial Museum was not only an opportunity to create handmade cosmetics but also a perfect occasion to spend time together and engage in conversations. During the event, flowers were handed out as well as the gifts prepared by Mydlarnia Cztery Szpaki.
“Such a Women’s Day is a fantastic initiative that brings generations together. Everyone can talk and do something together. I came with my granddaughter, and I’m happy we can spend this time together,” emphasized Sybirak Barbara Tołwińska, one of the workshop participants.
“There are Sybiraks, their daughters, granddaughters and in my opinion such integration of generations is very much needed. In my family, my father was deported to Siberia, so here we are also connected in some way by family history,” added Małgorzata Okurowska, the daughter of a Sybirak.
The workshop in collaboration with Mydlarnia Cztery Szpaki is the first of the events prepared by the Sybir Memorial Museum for International Women’s Day.
Tomorrow, everyone will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the permanent exhibition along a path prepared especially for the occasion of Women’s Day.

On Sunday, we invite you to a curatorial tour of the temporary exhibition “Boundlessness in Sybir”. Exhibition curators, Kamil Kopania PhD and Ewelina Kamieńska, will focus on the narratives of Sybiraks, referencing the works displayed at the exhibition.
