Workshops have been prepared as part of the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the Białystok Ghetto Uprising. The first meeting with youth took place in June 2, 2023.

Their uniqueness is that — if the weather will be nice — they are held not only in the museum’s building, but also at the Białystok Fabryczny railway station. It used to be a place, from which, during the Soviet occupation carriages went to Sybir, and during the German occupation, after the liquidation of the ghetto, to the extermination camp in Treblinka.

As part of the workshops, youth gets familiar with, for instance, the fragments of the manuscript by Dawid Szpiro from the collection of the Sleńdziński Art Gallery. Dawid begun to keep a diary at the age of 18, in 1939. He described everyday life of the Białystok Ghetto until the year of 1943. The notes end right before the outbreak of the Ghetto Uprising. Further fate of the author is unknown, he most probably died.
