TUESDAYS – Conservation Workshops
Time: 1:00 p.m.
Duration: 90 minutes
Age group: 8–12 years
These workshops will give participants an insight into the work of a museum conservator. The programme includes a brief visit to the conservation studio, a presentation of the tools used by conservators, and an introduction to basic conservation techniques. During the practical session, each participant will create their own photo frame using the methods they have learned. The workshops help develop practical skills and provide a better understanding of how museum objects and historical artefacts are preserved and cared for.





WEDNESDAYS – Calligraphy Workshops
Time: 1:00 p.m.
Duration: 90 minutes

These workshops combine museum education with creative writing. The session begins with a short visit to the permanent exhibition, focusing on the section devoted to diaries. Participants will learn about the significance of diaries and their role in documenting history. The visit will be followed by a calligraphy workshop, during which each participant will decorate the first page of their own diary to take home.





THURSDAYS – The Secrets of the Peoples of Siberia – NEW WORKSHOP!
Time: 1:00 p.m.
Duration: 60 minutes
Age group: 7–10 years
Siberia is a unique land inhabited by many different peoples and indigenous communities. During this workshop, participants will learn about some of them and discover aspects of their culture and traditions. They will have the opportunity to see authentic Siberian costumes and explore one of the most important Siberian legends through a multisensory experience. The workshop will conclude with a collage project depicting the traditional costumes of the Buryat people.
FRIDAYS – Polish Children in the Land of the Rising Sun
Time: 1:00 p.m.
Duration: 60 minutes
Age group: 7–10 years
Every Friday during the summer holidays, we invite families to take part in workshops exploring the story of Polish children rescued a century ago from Siberia during a time of civil war and famine. Participants will learn how these children came to be so far from home and how, thanks to the assistance of the Japanese government, they eventually reached the Land of the Rising Sun. Through a variety of activities inspired by Japanese culture, including Kamishibai storytelling, participants will discover this remarkable chapter of history. At the end of the workshop, participants will decorate their own souvenir bag using the Japanese hapa zome dyeing technique.
