Art Workshops “Home” („Dom”)

On March 15, we invite children aged 8–12 to participate in special art workshops centered around the concept of “home.”

What is home? Is it just a place, or is it primarily people, memories, and emotions? What does home look like through a child’s eyes? Participants will explore these questions through creative expression, using various artistic techniques such as painting, drawing, and lettering.

During the workshops, children will create their own artistic interpretations of home—a place symbolizing safety, memories, and identity. Using large cardboard formats, paints, and brushes, they will build their own house models, filling them with lines, colors, and words. Each participant will engage with questions and prompts related to the idea of home and decide how to represent them artistically.

The workshops will not only stimulate creativity but also encourage reflection on emotions and the meaning of home in different contexts—historical, family, and personal. At the end, participants will discuss their works, compare them, and look for shared elements.

The artistic activities are inspired by the exhibition “Boundlessness in Sybir,” which presents works by contemporary artists and refers to the experiences of Sybiraks. The artworks explore the theme of vastness and boundaries—both physical and emotional. In the first part of the workshop, participants will be introduced to the exhibition by Ewelina Kamieńska, curator of the temporary exhibition “Boundlessness in Sybir”.
