This year’s edition will give voice to museum objects — to what is usually closed, visible, yet silent. We will focus on the idea of extracting sound from the display case and on viewing museum artifacts not as mute witnesses to history, but as carriers of memory, emotion, and hidden narratives. Every object behind glass tells its own story: of journeys, loss, daily life, faith, waiting, and endurance. We want those stories to resonate.

Ambient is not an ordinary concert. It is an experience — and this year it is co-created by:

Dtekk (Jędrzej Dondziło) – DJ and activist, a well-known pioneer of electronic and ambient music in Poland, founder and co-creator of the Up To Date Festival.

Paweł Pruski – electronic music producer and composer specializing in ambient and experimental sound forms. His work is a carefully constructed sonic journey in which silence, space, and acoustic detail play a central role.

The Fourth Siberian Ambient Salon is part of the commemorations of the 86th anniversary of the first mass deportation of Polish citizens to the East. Through music and shared experience, we seek to pay tribute to the victims of Siberian deportations, recalling their stories and resilience.

ABOUT THE CONCEPT

The “Ambient Salon” series originated in Białystok and grew out of the activities of the Up To Date Festival and the Technosoul collective. Several dozen editions have already been held in cities across Poland. The Salons promote genres such as ambient, modern classical, IDM, and even noise. The culmination of each year is the Central Ambient Salon as part of the Up To Date Festival, which this year will take place in Białystok from 30 May to 2 June.

The Siberian Ambient Salon was initiated in 2022 by the Sybir Memorial Museum in cooperation with the Up To Date Festival, within the broader “Ambient Salon” series. Its aim is to present the themes of the Museum in a contemporary and unexpected form.

The Siberian Ambient Salon is also a nod to Węglówka and the recent history of Białystok. It was on Węglowa Street that the Sybir Memorial Museum was established — and where the first editions of the Up To Date Festival took place.
