On 10 February 1940, the first of four mass deportations carried out by the Soviet authorities took place. The Sybir Memorial Run is held in the evening, in the forest, on the anniversary of those events — to recreate as closely as possible the emotions experienced by the deportees.

Wrocław – Osobowicki Forest – 21 February 2026 – Distance: 5 km

The Sybir Memorial Run is a unique event that combines commemoration of the fate of Sybiraks historical education, sport, and a distinctive race route enriched with art installations and historical reenactments. This makes the event special not only for runners, but also for spectators and the Sybiraks who join us every year.

For those unable to run in Białystok or Wrocław, we invite you to join the virtual edition.

The challenge will take place from 7 to 28 February 2026, and anyone anywhere in the world can participate — simply register online and complete at least 5 km.

Participants in the virtual run, just like those taking part in the on-site events, will receive a bib number and a commemorative medal. The kilometres logged in the virtual run are added to the overall distance covered by all participants.

We also encourage you to take part in the “I Run for a Sybirak” campaign. When registering, you may enter the name and surname of a Sybirak for whom you wish to run. You may include the names of relatives or use the available database containing detailed information about the fate of deportees. This is a meaningful way to honour your loved ones or pay tribute to those who are no longer with us.
