During Saturday’s session, titled “Postcard to a Sybirak,” young participants, together with workshop leader Katarzyna Zabłocka, reflected on the concept of memory — how it can be nurtured and expressed.
The workshop began with a guided tour of the exhibition Boundlessness in Sybir led by its curator Ewelina Kamieńska, who shared the stories of the deported — providing both context and inspiration for the creative part of the event. Participants learned about the lives of Sybiraks: their daily struggles in exile, harsh living conditions, separation from loved ones, longing for their homeland, but also moments of hope, solidarity, and resilience.

Together, they explored what they would like to say to Sybiraks today — how to express gratitude, remembrance, and respect. The idea of a postcard itself became a source of inspiration: a symbolic bridge between people, a vessel for emotions, and a gesture of care.
In the practical part of the workshop, participants created unique postcards in the form of collages — using dried plants, colorful paper, gold flakes, and other natural materials. Each postcard carried a personal message of memory and appreciation.

Thank you to all participants for your creativity, sensitivity, and engagement!
