The art installation “RzeczyViste”, which moves and inspires reflection on the fate of those deported deep into the Soviet Union in 1940–1941, is traveling across Poland. We’ll regularly update this post with upcoming locations.

“RzeczyViste” is a metaphorical open suitcase. The objects inside it were carefully chosen to resemble those taken by people deported to Siberia. In front of each object stands a black or white plaque with a brief account of its owner’s story — including their name, age, and place of deportation. The installation has already been presented in cities such as Poznań, Lublin, Warsaw, Białowieża, and Białystok.

At each stop, museum staff will be available to share the concept behind the installation and tell the stories of those who were deported to Siberia.

The author of the installation is Karolina Mosiej-Zambrano. The substantive content was prepared by Paweł Kalisz.

Free admittance.
