On Saturday, June 14, 2025 (11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.), a special workshop will be held at the Sybir Memorial Museum, accompanying the temporary exhibition “Boundlessness in Sybir.” This is the third in a series of psychological workshops organized as part of the exhibition, which uses contemporary art to explore the deportations to Siberia and their complex, far-reaching consequences — including psychological and emotional dimensions.

In the face of today’s personal and global challenges, many of us ask: How can we hold on to hope? Is optimism something we’re born with — or something we can learn? And how does our family history shape the way we see the world?

During the workshop, we will explore the differences between optimistic and pessimistic mindsets, the outcomes each can lead to, and the factors that shape our dominant perspective. Participants will learn how to consciously cultivate an outlook that builds mental resilience, supports goal achievement, and improves our ability to adapt in a constantly changing world.

The exhibition “Boundlessness in Sybir,” introduced by curator Ewelina Kamieńska, will serve as a source of inspiration. Reflecting on the experiences of the Sybiraks, the workshop will offer an opportunity to consider how people who endured extreme hardship found the inner strength to survive — and how they passed hope on to future generations.

This event is open to anyone seeking deeper insight into themselves and the world, along with practical tools for building inner balance and optimism — even in uncertain times.

The workshop is intended for adults interested in how history shapes modern life — particularly those who wish to understand the mechanisms of intergenerational transmission and their role in fostering healthy relationships and a strong sense of identity.
