“Women in Siberia” – guided tour of the permanent exhibition
A special guided tour dedicated to the fate of women who were sent to Siberia in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Some of them were participants in national uprisings, others ended up there as a result of deportations or resettlements. For them, Siberia meant hard labor, the struggle for survival, being robbed of their femininity, but also daily effort of maintaining their dignity and identity – both their own and their children. During the special tour, prepared on the occasion of Women’s Day, we will introduce the dramatic stories of Sybiraks, highlighting their extraordinary heroism, strength and determination.
