On August 11 (Sunday) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Sanctuary of the Blessed Sacrament in Sokółka, visitors will have the opportunity to see our installation called “RzeczyViste.”
The installation consists of objects selected selected in such a way that they represent the authentic items taken by people deported to Siberia when they were suddenly informed of their immediate departure. The installation called “RzeczyViste” is a metaphor for an open suitcase. It contains children’s toys, everyday items, and clothing. In front of each item there is a black or white plate with a brief description of its owner’s fate. It contains basic information about the deportee: name, age and place of deportation.
This is a touching, evocative, and evoking nostalgia lesson of history, and we cordially invite everyone to attend.
