On June 29, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., you will be able to see our “RzeczyViste” installation.
“RzeczyViste” is an installation that aims to draw attention to the fate of Polish citizens deported deep into the Soviet Union in 1940-1941. Through its unusual form, it is supposed to intrigue and surprise the audience. It is a metaphor for an open suitcase. The items presented in it have been selected so as to correspond to those that accompanied people deported to Siberia. In front of each item there is a black or white plate with a brief description of its owner’s fate. It contains basic information about the deportee: name, age and place of deportation. So far, the installation have been seen, among others, in Poznań, Lublin, Warsaw, Białowieża, Supraśl and Białystok.
We invite all interested to take part in this extraordinary history lesson. Employees will be waiting in the tent with the logo of the Sybir Memorial Museum, who briefly explain the idea of the installation and talk about the fate of people deported to Siberia.
The author of the installation is Karolina Mosiej-Zambrano. Paweł Kalisz was responsible for the substantive development.
