This year, the theme of our activities is the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino. We encourage you to check out the schedule of events.
4:00 PM — 10:00 PM
- “The Bear who Became a Soldier“ — educational workshops for Children
Animals have long been used in wars, mainly for transportation, but how did a small Syrian bear become a Polish soldier? We will not only solve this mystery but also find out where our soldiers found Wojtek the Bear and the long journey they undertook together. During the journey across three continents, we encounter puzzles that will require the use of many senses and our imagination to solve. Piece by piece, we will learn about the fate of Wojtek the Bear.
- Presentations of historical reconstruction groups of the 2nd Polish Corps and historical vehicles used in the Italian Campaign.
- „Gdy maki kwitły na zboczach…” — outdoor exhibition
The exhibition presents the trail of Anders’ Army through individual soldiers’ stories and unique artifacts that have entered the Museum’s collection. The exhibition’s authors based the narrative on three aspects: the formation of the army and its evacuation from the Soviet Union, its participation in the Italian campaign, and the post-war fate of General Władysław Anders’ soldiers. They have been illustrated with cartographic materials, postcards, posters, photographs, and original items related to the ‘Anders’ Army.’
