On March 13, 2025, at 6:00 p.m, the Sybir Memorial Museum will host a meeting with Zofia Pi\u0142asiewicz \u2013 a writer and photographer connected with the August\u00f3w Forest. The author of “Siberian Dream. The Badlands Story” (“Syberyjski sen. Opowie\u015b\u0107 bezdro\u017cna”), “Georgia. Halfway to Heaven” (“Gruzja. W p\u00f3\u0142 drogi do nieba”), “Journey” (“Podr\u00f3\u017c”), as well as a volume of poetry and numerous journalistic articles, will discuss her latest novel, in which the taiga serves as the backdrop for extraordinary stories and adventures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s what the author herself says about the book:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“When I traveled in the taiga, impressions and experience of the local nature, of this huge, self-renewable organism, that we call the taiga, were so strong that they provoked me to write books, initially as a form of releasing emotions and experiences. First it was non-fiction. Now it\u2019s time for a novel in which both heard and made up by me stores are combined with the fate of real characters, and all this with the taiga in the background, because the whole story is immersed in this fascinating world of wild, unspoiled countryside.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0“The Tigress’ Trail” is a story about the journey of Weronika and Wiera through the taiga full of Siberian tigers. Their trek becomes an experience that helps them discover their inner strength. The novel combines the story of Weronika and Wiera with the fate of an engineer and a deportee from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We invite all literature, history, adventure and the beauty of wild nature lovers to this special event. Zofia Pi\u0142asiewicz, known so far for her nonfiction and photography, will talk about her debut in the world of fiction novels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
