{"id":30048,"date":"2024-05-22T15:27:23","date_gmt":"2024-05-22T13:27:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sybir.bialystok.pl\/?p=30048"},"modified":"2025-05-24T15:22:32","modified_gmt":"2025-05-24T13:22:32","slug":"xiii-national-scientific-conference-of-the-series-jews-of-eastern-poland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sybir.bialystok.pl\/en\/xiii-national-scientific-conference-of-the-series-jews-of-eastern-poland\/","title":{"rendered":"XIII National Scientific Conference of &#8220;Jews of Eastern Poland&#8221; series"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We cordially invite you to the XIII National Scientific Conference of &#8220;Jews of Eastern Poland&#8221; series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The subject of this edition, which is held on <strong>May 27-28<\/strong>, will be Jewish travels and Jewish travelers in Central and Eastern Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference will be held in two locations in Bia\u0142ystok: <strong>on May 27 at Ksi\u0105\u017cnica Podlaska on ul. Mari Sk\u0142odowskiej-Curie 14A, and on May 28 at the Sybir Memorial Museum on ul. W\u0119glowa 1.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Tuesday, May 28, one of the speakers will be Anna Py\u017cewska \u2013 a Scientific Department of the Sybir Memorial Museum employee. She will talk about the wartime fate of Paulina and Artur W\u0142odawer. Paulina and Artur W\u0142odawer were a young married couple living in Warsaw. In October 1939, they fled across the green border to the territories occupied by the USSR. In 1940, Paulina and Artur were deported from \u0141uck to Siberia. After being released from exile in 1941, they settled in Kazakhstan.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference programme also includes a special guided tour of the permanent exhibition at the Sybir Memorial Museum.
