The conference, organized by the Sybir Memorial Museum and the Polish Center for Torture Survivors, accompanies the opening of the temporary exhibition \u2018Only Pain is Mine\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The exhibition presents women’s experience of Siberia and poses the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What did girls and women face in Siberia? What is femininity in a limit situation? Is there only pain left for a woman who has experienced violence?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scientific conference “Woman and War” encourages us to look at the stories about the women of Siberia in a broader context. We will talk about women who found themselves in the inhuman land, experiencing violence and rebuilding their lives after dramatic experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Izabela Trybus, president of the Polish Center for Torture Survivors will be the moderator at the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
