On Monday, November 6, from 10.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m.<\/strong>, a scientific conference “Bia\u0142ystok: Jewish stories”<\/strong> will be held in the multimedia room. It is part of the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Bia\u0142ystok Ghetto Uprising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The event will be attended by, among others: researchers from the University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University and the University of Bia\u0142ystok, as well as from the Jewish Historical Institute and the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, November 9, at 5.00 p.m.<\/strong>, the “Exhibit of the Month”<\/strong> will be presented. We are going to present the mementos of Leon Barszczewski, a traveler, explorer and pioneer of travel photography. His great-grandson, Igor Stojecki, will talk about the items. The display case with the “Exhibit of the Month” can traditionally be found in the upper floor of the Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An hour later, at 6.00 p.m.<\/strong>, there will be another meeting in our series of travel stories \u2014 Igor Strojecki will talk about the extraordinary life of his great-grandfather and present photographs taken by Barszczewski during his stay in Central Asia. This time, we invite you to the snow-white space around the “People of Ice” sculpture at our permanent exhibition. Tickets for the meeting (prices: 10 PLN and 15 PLN) can be purchased at the ticket office or via our website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On November 22, at 5.00 p.m.<\/strong>, we invite you to a meeting with the representatives of the Argentinian Historias Desobedientes<\/strong> (Disobedient Stories) movement. It is made up of people whose parents were perpetrators of crimes during the military dictatorship (1976-1983). The “disobedient” demand that the perpetrators be brought to justice. The conversation will concern the problems of justice for crimes, historical memory and the common experience of nations affected by totalitarian regimes. Admission to the meeting is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We would like to remind you that on November 1, on All Saints\u2019 Day, the Museum will be closed. Similarly, on the holiday Saturday, November 11, and on the following Sunday, November 12, the Sybir Memorial Museum will be closed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

November also brings changes in the opening hours of the permanent exhibition on Saturdays, so that the working week of the Sybir Memorial Museum from November will be as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
