We suffered a lot from the eastern invader, as a nation and a society, said the Mayor of the City of Bialystok, Tadeusz Truskolaski, at a conference convened at the Sybir Memorial Museum. \u2014 Our territories, the east of Poland, have been particularly affected by deportations. Bialystok is therefore a natural place for celebrations commemorating September 17, 1939, especially since we have had such a beautiful facility as the Sybir Memorial Museum \u2014 he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Official ceremonies will take place on Saturday, September 17 at 12.00 at the Monument of the Sybirak Mother at the Sybir Memorial Museum. \u2014 We have prepared a two-day program related to the celebration of the said anniversary and the Day of the Siberians on September 17 \u2014 said the director of the museum, professor Wojciech \u015aleszy\u0144ski. Sybiraks and their testimony are at the center of our attention. That is why we invite you to visit the exhibition, during which you will be able to meet a Sybirak and hear his\/her story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This weekend we also have a special offer \u2014 adds professor \u015aleszy\u0144ski. \u2014 Sybiraks, who always enter our Museum free of charge will be able to introduce their relatives, neighbors and friends to the permanent exhibition. Those, who will accompany a Sybirak, pay a symbolic one zloty for the ticket. Visiting will be possible during the regular working hours of the Museum: Saturday 12.30 a.m \u2014 8.00 p.m and 9.30 a.m \u2014 5.00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

11.15 a.m \u2014 12.00 a.m  “History Witnesses”<\/strong>, in other words, visiting the permanent exhibition in the company of Sybiraks. They will share their experience of deportations to Siberia and present the souvenirs donated to the Museum \u2014 today the exhibits at the permanent exhibition. 7.00 p.m<\/strong> \u2014 Light of Remembrance<\/strong>, in other words, lighting of symbolic candles on the tracks at the Sybir Memorial Museum, on the siding from which transports deported deep into the Soviet Union departed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.30 p.m \u2014 10.00 p.m \u2014  “17.09. We remember\u201d <\/strong>\u2014 unique illumination of the building of the Sybir Memorial Museum<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunday, September 18<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

10.00 a.m \u2014 5.00 p.m \u2014 Museum meeting with education<\/strong>, i.e. activities for children and youth from grades I-III and IV-VIII \u2014 free admission<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12.00 a.m \u2014 Screening of Pawe\u0142 Doma\u0144ski’s film \u201cCena Wyzwolenia\u201d (“The Price of Liberation”)<\/strong> and meeting with the director \u2014 admission free. A documentary film devoted to the events that took place in the former Borderlands of the Second Polish Republic after the entry of the Red Army on September 17, 1939. It presents the mechanisms of Soviet propaganda and criminal activities, the schemes of which are carried out today by Russia in Ukraine attacked by Russia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
