Oksana Kis, a magnificent Ukrainian explorer taking care of the women point of view to the newest history of our part of Europe will be the guest of another meeting as part of the Museum Laboratory of Borderland Experiences \u2018Siberian Spirit\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Oksana Kis, PhD, takes care of the history of women. She is the head of the Research Group \u2018Women’s Archive\u2019, she works in the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. She is also interested in the cultural changes in the post-communist countries and the Oral History.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The starting point will be the book by the character of the meeting: \u2018Survival as victory: Ukrainians in Gulag\u2019. We will wonder, what is the difference between a soviet labor camp seen from the woman point of view and the one known from the camp classic literature. We will commonly search for the answers to the sense of heroism against the criminal system and the reasons of a sense of guilt very often common among the women, that survived the stay in the inhuman land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting will be held on June 22, Wednesday and starts at 5:00 p.m. in the audiovisual room of the Sybir Memorial Museum. The host of the meeting will be professor Krzysztof Czy\u017cewski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
