\u201cMemoirs 1939-47\u201d. Stanis\u0142aw Kubala was 13 years old at the outbreak of World War II. He lived in Wasilkow, where his father, J\u00f3zef, was the head of a primary school. J\u00f3zef, as a reserve officer, went to war, from which he never returned. He died in Katyn. On April 12, 1940, Stanis\u0142aw with his mother and younger siblings was deported to Kazakhstan. He did not leave it until 1942 when he joined the so-called Anders\u2019 Army. The end of the war found him in Great Britain, where he served in the air force. Memories are an extremely interesting reading. The author turns out to be a sensitive and perceptive observer \u2014 of both people and nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The book includes a profound presentation of interpersonal relations and the impact of great politics on the lives of individuals, action-packed, and touching descriptions of landscapes and the exposes of the elements. In the coming days, the book will be presented at two promotional meetings, during which it will be possible to buy the publication. On Thursday, March 24, 2022 we invite the residents of Bialowieza to the auditorium of the Forestry Technical College, where at 12:00 p.m. Tomasz Danilecki, PhD from the Sybir Memorial Museum will give a lecture on deportations of Polish people deep into the Soviet Union. Then, two publications of Siberian memories will be presented: \u201eZ wiar\u0105 i nadziej\u0105 w szeregu\u201d (“With faith and hope in line”) by Stanis\u0142aw Kubala and \u201eUpar\u0142am si\u0119 i posz\u0142am\u201d (“I insisted and I went”) by Jadwiga Oko\u0142\u00f3w.
