On February 9, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.<\/strong>, the Sybir Memorial Museum will host a meeting inaugurating the activities of the Museum’s Laboratory of Border Experiences. The aim of the meeting will be to present the idea of this project. It will be attended by the author of the substantive concept, Krzysztof Czy\u017cewski, PhD, and Wojciech \u015aleszy\u0144ski, PhD, director of the museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Museum’s Laboratory of Borderline Experiences meets the need to develop modern means of transferring knowledge, creating a culture of memory and cultivating spiritual heritage. The Sybir Memorial Museum is a natural place for such activities. Its name itself contains fundamental values: a museum as a collection, scientific work and appreciation of the wisdom accumulated by historical experience. Memory as a force that creates a community and stimulates development, dialogue and cooperation. Finally, Siberia \u2014 the fate of specific people rooted in the universal experience of suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The material for the Laboratory of Borderline Experiences will be the collection of the Sybir Memorial Museum, its research, educational and publishing work. The support will be Polish and world literature with Siberia and the Gulag as the most important point of reference as well as the film works exploring the issues of borderline experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among its tasks, the studio will have to create a circle of outstanding figures in the humanities and public life from Poland and the world as consultants and correspondents as well as participants in discussions, conferences and publishing activities. World-class researchers, opinion leaders and museologists associated with the Studio will conduct a dialogue on the international forum of many areas of the humanities: history, philosophy, anthropology, cultural studies and theology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the Studio, apart from a series of debates and master classes various forms of cooperation with schools, universities and cultural centers will be carried out including workshops and summer schools, competitions and artistic projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
