Walenty begun his medical studies in Vitebsk, his brother the teachers&#8217; college in Wilno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jab\u0142o\u0144ski family was considered to be the enemies of the Soviet Union. The father was arrested in 1948. The rest of the family was deported to Kazakhstan in 1952. While being deported Walenty had a watch on him, which he bought at the end of the Second World War at one of the markets in Grodno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt was really hard to get a thing. While being deported I was wearing the watch. I was wearing it on my hand all the time in Kazakhstan. It helped me with my life. I was always punctual at work. Besides, I gained other people\u2019 respect.
