THE INSTALLATION IN THE URBAN SPACE – 'RZECZYVISTE' IN LUBLIN
'RzeczyViste' is an artistic installation which was presented for the first time in April 2019 at the Kościuszko Market Square in Bialystok. On 18-19 September it could be seen in ... Lublin!
The installation prepared by the Sybir Memorial Museum refers to the mass deportations of Poles to the East. It is to remind about the dramatic events from the past. The main symbol of the undertaking installation is an open suitcase, from which the things fell out during the arrest...
One of the most common Soviet repression in 1939-1941 were deportations. Whole families were resettled to the Far East - mainly to Siberia and to Kazakhstan. During four mass deportations in inhuman conditions, in goods wagons and almost without food and drink, were transported at least 330 thousand. Polish citizens. The deportations of individuals lasted throughout the entire Soviet occupation and it is difficult to estimate their scale.
The installation could be seen at Teatralny Square at the Center for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin.
